Hello Kyutai!

| Author: Kyutai Team

Today, we are six AI researchers jumping on stage, at Station F, to announce the start of a brand new scientific adventure named Kyutai (“sphere” in Japanese): Kyutai is a non-profit laboratory dedicated to open research in artificial intelligence, supported by Xavier Niel (Iliad), Rodolphe Saadé (CMA-CGM) and Eric Schmidt (Schmidt Sciences), our generous founding donors. Our mission is to develop, at the heart of Europe, a world-class AI research that benefits to all via open science.

Given the various challenges ahead of the on-going AI revolution, there is no shortage of open questions for a team like us to attack. We will strive to create novel general-purpose models that are multimodal, reliable, adaptable and efficient. For each project, we will share models, codes and technical details with the entire AI ecosystem – researchers, developers, engineers, entrepreneurs and decision-makers. We will also contribute to the training of future AI experts, by welcoming interns, PhD students and postdocs. We are hiring for these as well as full-time positions, apply here.

Based in central Paris, we are starting full steam, entirely focused on a first project to push the frontiers of voice AI.
